Data Visualization with R

Data Visualization is the art of communicate information about data in a clearly and efficiently way in order to help users analyze and reason about data and evidence. 

This course offers the most advanced R features for data visualization. In particular, it explores ggplot2() package, developed by Hadley Wickam and Winston Chang.


This course is suitable for people with a base R and statistical knowledge who want to improve their data visualization skills.

Course organization

The first part of the course teaches you the bases of ggplot2 grammar. In particular the course focuses on how to build the most important kinds of plot, like: Scatter Plot, Line Plot, Histogram, Bar Plot, Box Plot, Surface Plot.

The second part of the course illustrates the advanced features of ggplot2. It focuses on how to deal with the most common questions about plot customization and on other topics like plots saving and ggplot2 community.


  • ggplot2 grammar 
  • Creating Plots (Scatter Plot, Line Plot, Bar Plot, Histogram, Box Plot, Surface Plot)
  • Customizing Plots (aestethics, legend, axes, faceting and themes)
  • Other topics (ggplot2 community and presenting plots)


The cost of a 2 day course is 800 + VAT per person, which includes lunch, comprehensive course materials plus 1 hour of individual online post course support for each student within 30 days from course date.
